I apologize to those of you who follow me on Facebook and Instagram as you are probably tired of seeing the same two photos, but I have to strike while the iron is hot as they say. The book is now available in eBook and paperback through Amazon. Here is the link: Her Ride or Die
If you happen to have a Kindle Unlimited subscription, you can read it on that, too.
I’m going to include for you the Author’s Note that I wrote for it:
Author’s note:
Each of my novels have pieces of me in them, but perhaps none more than this one, so far. Those who know me will see me in this book just like they see me in my children. A novel is like a grown child set free into the world where some will love him, and others may dislike him heartily – the author/parent has no control over that.
This book, and all my others, began the way a child does, as a seed of an idea which then grew and formed into something more. Just as children are malleable to a point, so are my stories; eventually, though, they get away from me and enjoy their wild “teenage” phase. I rein them in and work on them, erasing a character flaw here and a major blunder there until I’ve picked and prodded and poked at them all I can – in fact, I originally intended that the Jo/Joe names would lead to mistaken identity and problems with the bad guys, but the characters had other ideas. When I realized that my original plan wasn’t going to work, I considered changing one of their names, but by then, their names suited them too well for me to call them anything other than Jo and Joe. After I’ve done my best to shape the characters and the story, all I can do is release the book to you and hope for the best.
Like each child, each book is different and contains different parts of me. In this novel, my love of riding should be apparent, but I hope that you also noticed my love of telling a good story and my love for two special guys – my dearly departed uncle, Paul Filsinger, who was the photographer of the motorcycle that graces the cover, and a man named Kim Erickson who is my own ‘ride or die’ and best friend and with whom I’ve burned a lot of daylight on the open road.
Thank you for reading.
If you are a paying subscriber, you are going to get a sneak peek at as much of the book as I can copy and paste without going over the length that Substack will allow in its emails. If you’re not yet a paying subscriber but would like to read some of the book this week, and probably more next week, then please consider upgrading to “paid.”
Until next week. I’m off to promote my new book some more.
