This week, I have a favor to ask. It’s not a big favor, but it’s a favor nonetheless. I would like each of you to go to my YouTube channel, select one or more of the videos, watch it, and leave a comment for that video.
If you would be willing to do that, here is the link: Tammy's YouTube channel
The link will take you to the Playlist page. You can choose to go to the video page instead or the home page when you go to the playlist page. I’m sending you to the playlist page, though, so you can choose if you’d prefer to hear me read a chapter from one of my books or a piece of my other writings or one of my motivational talks or a bit about my journey as a writer.
Some videos are longer than others, so you can make a selection based on length, too.
Naturally, part of the reason I began doing the videos was to get listeners interested in my writing and hopefully entice them to purchase a book or two; however, I also began creating the videos as a way to share portions of my books in an audio format. I often am asked if my books are available on Audible or other audiobook sites. No, they are not — not yet, at least. By making parts of them available on YouTube, I’m trying to reach people who prefer to listen to books and stories while they do other things. With time, I may eventually have all the chapters of each book available here, but I’m not yet sure about that. After all, I do want people to buy my books, but I also want to keep people listening who are enjoying the books.
The videos are very casual and meant to be that way. I want people to feel like I’m just reading them a story, and in the “motivational” ones, I want them to feel like I’m just having a conversation — albeit a one-sided one — with them. Plus, I don’t have any fancy recording equipment — maybe I will someday, but I don’t now, so I work with what I have, and what I have is a laptop. I don’t think a person has to have fancy equipment, though, to tell a good story or share motivational ideas.
You can see that some of the videos haven’t had many views while others have had a decent amount. I have no desire to become a YouTube sensation, but I would like to get a few more views than I have on some of the videos. I would also like viewers to comment, so that’s why I’m asking for the favor this week. Comments can entice other viewers, and comments can help me make better content.
Comment on whatever video you view — preferably a favorable comment, but if you hate the video, then please be honest. If you know of anyone who might enjoy subscribing to my YouTube channel, please send them to it — subscribing is free!
I will put out more videos soon. I enjoy making them even though I do not enjoy being on camera. I feel, though, that it’s important for me as an author to connect with my readers in any way that I can, and this is a way to connect with readers anywhere in the world. That’s what I love about it. Additionally, those videos are there until I choose to remove them, so readers anywhere can view a video I made a year ago, or they can view all my videos.
That’s all for this week. I won’t add anything else since I do really hope you’ll take some time to watch at least one of my YouTube channel videos. Thanks for your help, and I look forward to reading your comments. If you prefer not to make a comment that others can read on the YouTube channel, feel free to comment here instead.
Thank you. Also, please subscribe to the channel to know when a new video drops, and please subscribe to “Tomes and Topics” if you don’t already do so, or upgrade to paid to receive the advanced readings of my works in progress.
